Upload WAV, MP3 or FLAC. Trace reads the audio structure and checks available provenance and metadata.
Forensic audio signals are compared and mapped across the track. Trace builds a spectrogram and identifies localized evidence regions.
Your report combines provenance, master-level signals and timeline evidence. Click the waveform to hear the regions Trace is referring to.
Where deeper examination is useful, stem-level analysis can separately examine vocals, drums, bass and other elements.
Trace is a forensic screening tool. It reports characteristics and evidence found in the submitted audio; it is not proof of origin. Results remain available in My Scans.

Only an identical file in your own account is matched. An edited export is treated as a new file.
Some processing can weaken detection in specific systems. That is not a universal watermark-removal recipe—or proof that a track is human-made.

Search for “remove AI music watermark” and you will find confident claims about effects, compression and re-exporting. The important missing question is: which watermark, tested with which verifier?
Audio processing can reduce detectability in some studied systems. It is not a dependable method for removing every AI watermark, and it does not rewrite the production history.
Özer and colleagues’ RAW-Bench study evaluates AudioSeal, SilentCipher, Timbre and WavMark. It reports that neural compression is especially challenging for those evaluated methods, while transformations such as time stretching and reverberation affect some systems strongly.
Those findings are specific to the evaluated models, data and conditions. The study is not a test of all commercial AI music providers, and neural compression should not be treated as interchangeable with an ordinary MP3 export.
Watermarking systems do not all behave alike. Google states that SynthID audio watermarks withstand common changes including added noise, MP3 compression and speed changes in its supported products.
The July 2026 MusicMark preprint studies music watermarking and reports greater robustness than its compared baselines under transformations including neural codec re-synthesis and singing-voice conversion. It is a research system, not evidence that every commercial generator uses that method.
Together, these sources undermine a universal “apply this effect and the watermark disappears” claim. A transformation that disrupts one system can leave another detectable.
A weaker or negative verification result describes the response of a particular check to a particular file. It does not necessarily establish that the embedded signal is physically absent.
The verifier may have limits relating to its supported inputs or the marker being checked. A forensic AI classifier may still report findings even if a separate watermark check does not. Likewise, a changed forensic score is not proof of watermark removal.
Metadata is another layer. Removing a descriptive tag does not establish that an audio watermark has been removed; an embedded marker and a file label are different mechanisms.
If you want to understand an ordinary production workflow, retain a source with a confirmed detectable marker, the processed export and the verification results for both.
Use the same supported verifier and document the actual processing applied. A claim based only on the final file lacks the baseline needed to say what changed. A result from one export does not automatically establish how later copies or other verifiers will behave.
Assess the music separately: a lower detector response is not evidence of better audio quality. Aggressive processing can alter a performance without answering the origin question.
Adding instruments, rearranging the song or replacing an ingredient can make a substantial creative difference. Keep records of those changes rather than using watermark visibility as a measure of your contribution.
For TRACE reports, read the stated evidence type. This article does not claim that TRACE verifies SynthID, MusicMark or every other embedded marker.
The evidence-based conclusion is narrower than the search headline: some audio transformations diminish detection in some systems. A universal removal method—and a certificate of human authorship—does not follow.
An explainer is educational guidance. Test notes describe documented experiments; neither format certifies an individual track.
Explore the signals, then read them in context.

An inserted watermark and a forensic audio finding are different clues. Neither a missing marker nor a reassuring scan establishes human authorship.

ai musicmusic productionartist guidesTRACE is currently in testing. This page outlines the current service. Final purchase terms and privacy information will be published before payments and public launch.
TRACE screens submitted audio for provenance, metadata and measurements associated with AI-generated material. A result is not proof of who created a track. Ordinary production and processing may explain suspicious measurements, and a scan may miss AI-generated material.
Only upload audio you have permission to submit. Saved scans are accessed through your signed-in account. An identical upload in your own account can open its saved report for free; a new analysis requires confirmation of its displayed credit cost.
Credit purchases are not yet enabled. Launch packs are €9 for 10 credits, €19 for 25 credits and €39 for 60 credits. One credit covers one completed master scan; failed processing does not consume a credit. Purchased credits will be valid for 12 months from purchase, with no subscription or automatic renewal. Final purchase and refund terms will be published before checkout opens.
Audio is stored to support saved-report playback and is automatically deleted 30 days after a completed scan. The report remains in My Scans after the audio expires. You can delete a scan earlier at any time; deleting a scan removes its saved report, stored audio and playback copy, and revokes its report invitations. A fuller privacy policy will be published before public launch.
